A Square’s Monologue
by Jack (5th grade)

Why am I so average? Is it because I eat three square meals a day? Or is it because I think inside the box? It’s boring to be so perfect with the size of my sides and corners. I have emotions, as you can see, and there is nothing normal about me. You know what? It is time to part and start a new life. I will shave my top corners and become a triangle! I might be a pin head but at least I won’t be perfect.
