He Saw It Happen
by Lauren (6th grade)

He saw three things happen—
People giving him sight,
The parish of those people, and the sky

He lived for the sky
Now he lives for the museum
He lives in the museum

For all eternity

He Loved
by Artemis (6th grade)

He loved just three things—
His curly hair, his strong, tough arms
And the fame he earned with them

He despised the viewers staring at him
Every hour, his near immortality
And his inability to move

He forever lived with others of his kind
